Behavioral Care Services of Chelan and Wenatchee Welcomes Licensed Mental Health Counselor Heidi Whitney

Lake Chelan Community Hospital’s Behavioral Care Services would like to welcome Heidi Whitney, a mental health therapist who will provide outpatient therapy for adolescents and adults.

She specializes in trauma and PTSD, depression, phase of life changes, anxiety and fear, grief and loss issues and stress management. She has experience in aiding relief of physical health symptoms and chronic pain symptoms using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) and Visualization.  

Heidi received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree is Applied Psychology from Eastern Washington University. She has been providing therapy services for over 19 years.

In her spare time, Heidi likes to be outdoors working in her garden, hiking, camping swimming and skiing.

 Ivan Pawlowicz, MD ABAM Certified Psychiatrist, Medical Director

Dr. Pawlowicz, Chief of Behavior Health Services and psychiatrist at Sanctuary at the Lake, completed certification in addictionology from the American Board of Addiction Medicine. Physicians who received addictionology certification have demonstrated the knowledge and skills to provide prevention, screening, intervention and treatment related to drug use disorders and addictions. These doctors can recognize and treat the psychological and physical complications of addiction.

Created in 2007, with the assistance and encouragement of the American Society of Addiction Medicine, ABAM offers a rigorous certifying examination that was developed by an expert panel and the National Board of Medical Examiners, as well as re-certification examination to ensure that ABAM-certified physicians maintain life-long competence in addiction medicine.

Dr. Pawlowicz works with adults, providing inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services. Dr. Pawlowicz joined Sanctuary at the Lake in July of 2009 and serves as the Medical Director and Chief of Behavioral Health Services. He earned his medical degree and completed his psychiatry residency at Texas Tech University Health Science Center. He received his BA in Computer Science at West Point and his MBA, MSIE in Engineering at Texas Tech University.
